Information Governance

Technology is a key part of any organization’s approach to information governance, and a range of different technology categories can play a role. For example, Enterprise 2.0 tools provide the front end for user interaction and collaboration that results in the generation and dissemination of unstructured content. ECM tools facilitate the capture and management of unstructured content in a variety of formats (such as Office documents, scanned images, email, electronic forms, etc.) throughout its lifecycle, including retention and disposition of records. Workflow tools handle the automation of processes that involve content routing and collaboration. All of these technologies come into play during information discovery, such as for audit or litigation.

Doculabs can help you develop more effective approaches for information governance in your organization, helping you mitigate operational and corporate risk, make litigation discovery more accurate and efficient, and increase your organization’s ability to audit compliance with all applicable laws and regulations – while also reducing costs in each of these areas. The key is to understand the relative value and risk of the types of content that exist within your organization, make informed decisions about the level of rigor to apply to different content types, define your information management policies, and develop the procedures and guidelines needed to support the policies.

Below are some examples of the types of information governance-related consulting projects we conduct for clients:
